Straight Shot Consulting
Straight Shot Consulting is the name of my new business... "For all things firearms, and for your safety." I am NRA certified as a Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Personal Protection instructor, have completed the NRA Range Operations and Development training and I am an NRA Appointed Smallbore Rifle Coach. I am El Dorado and Nevada County Certified for initial and renewal training for Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) permits.

I can provide for your firearms training needs from basic to advanced skills. Individual and group lessons are available. We can use the El Dorado Rod and Gun Club, or meet at your property if it is suited. Learn the fine points of rifles, pistols and shotguns as defensive and hunting tools. CCW classes include needed gun handling skills. Advice on recreational range development on your property and home security are other services I can provide.

I am also a Land Use Planner with 13 years experience with the El Dorado County Planning Department. I can assist you in commercial and residential development and permit assistance.

Handgun Familiarization
A main safety strategy for adults is best achieved through firearm practice and knowledge. Join me for Handgun familiarization at the El Dorado Rod & Gun Club Range on the second Sunday of the month, 9am-noon. This is a good opportunity to get some practice and free instruction in!

4-H Shooting Sports
I am the county-wide leader of the local 4-H club Shooting Sports project. We meet on the second Sunday of each month from 1 to 5 pm, at the El Dorado Rod & Gun Club Range. To learn more, please visit the 4-H Shooting Sports page and the El Dorado Rod and Gun Club Youth Program.

Eddie Eagle
I am an instructor for the National Rifle Association Eddie Eagle program, teaching our children what to do when they come across a gun: (Stop, Don't Touch, Leave the Area, Tell an Adult). I would be happy to give a presentation at any local school or youth organization at no cost (materials provided by the NRA Foundation.) The ninth annual Friends Of NRA fund-raising dinner is held each year in February. We meet Wednesday evenings starting in November. If you would have any ideas or would like to help out, e-mail me.

Is a gun rights and freedom alert network! My goal is to keep you informed on gun rights and related issues. I provide you with the easiest tools (e-mail addresses, web site links, toll free #'s, bill #'s, pre written letters, etc.) to get your comments to the people that matter. I borrow heavily from many sources and strive for accuracy of information.

These alerts come to you as the need arises and you may get two on one day and none for a month. Much depends on the level of legislative activity and the flow of useful information. I may also invite you to join me on trips to Sacramento to testify against the many proposals to make lawful gun ownership more expensive and burdensome.
